Blues
to Me!
CD
2007 Silverfalls Records
The CD, "Blues to Me!" is
considered by some to be one of the most comprehensive collection ever
published demonstrating the diverse styles of the Blues: Jump, Rhythm,
Swing, Western Swing and Kelli's award winning low down, dirty and
nasty sounding pure, "Blues." The CD also spotlights
the marvelous musicians who make up her band, "the Swing
Kings". Known for her musicianship, Kelli is the
backbone of the group. She was honored by her peers as a Texas State
Musician Nominee for '07. An honor very few women have ever received.
She was labeled "The Queen of Swing", now a
registered trademark, by Carl Perkins for her unique yet awesome piano
style.
With a pulse driving rhythm that interchanges with her gyrating
leads that are joined together with her left hand playing an
unsurpassed walking bassline THAT IS ALL LIVE, Kelli's signature style
“swings” in the truest definition of the word.
This PIANO POUNDIN', RHYTHM ROCKIN', BASS KICKIN' showman
is on the Mid-America Arts Alliance Touring Roster, which receives
co-funding by the National Endowment of the Arts in seven states. She
is a highly respected individual in the music business receiving an
"Honorable Mention" from Billboard for her R&B original,
"the Way Love Use to Be." Her highly acclaimed
original revue, “Swingin’ the Blues” carries the audience down a
musical highway of Blues, Jazz & Swing. Swinging; literally, from
New Orleans to New York City, Chicago to Kansas City and Memphis to
Texas, the show was written and designed as a clever way to showcase
her CD’s and award winning songwriting talents but; unquestionably,
pays homage to our American musical heritage, demonstrating
“swing’s” evolution into a musical revolution, “Rock 'n
Roll.“
